New hire district staff

Problem 

New district staff are not aware of who to contact if they have a technology issue or question. They often contact the wrong technology team about an issue and are frustrated or unable to complete their work due to delays in issue resolution.

Process Summary

  • Conduct a needs assessment and learner analysis
  • Define learning objectives
  • Determine most effective training method for the content and audience
  • Create a storyboard and script
  • Design and develop the microlearning object in Articulate Rise
  • Upload microlearning object to the AEA training site
  • Evaluate the microlearning for effectiveness
  • Make revisions as needed

Solution

A concise SCORM 1.2-compliant microlearning object that can be added to the AEA training site that details which technology team to contact and how for specific issues.

Result

Though this microlearning is conceptual and has not been made available to staff. In the future, multiple microlearning objects may be the preferred training method as teacher training hours for non-instructional content are very limited.
